In this work, Zhao Chengxiang flattened the space. The doors on either side of the painting imply that there is a room inside. However, the objects in the painting, appear to the viewer as if they are standing on a horizontal line, except for the lotus in the porcelain. The vague grey wall and the two black and white cats give the work an illusionary atmosphere.
