‘Pastoral Song’ is an iconic work by the legendary artist Sun Jianlin. It is extremely rich in layers. The shepherd girl in the painting is playing a flute, with a horse behind her, and they look like they are good friends. Surrounding them are smaller paper-cut horses in red. If you look closely, there are also people and horses in even smaller silhouettes dancing or running around.
